Steven Automotive Group is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Parts Manager to lead the daily operations of the Parts Department. The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory management, department profitability, customer satisfaction, employee development, and operational efficiency while ensuring exceptional service to internal and external customers.
The Parts Manager will work closely with Service, Sales, and Fixed Operations leadership to maximize departmental performance while maintaining manufacturer standards and company policies.

Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop Parts Department personnel.

Establish performance expectations and conduct regular employee evaluations.

Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on customer service and continuous improvement.

Create employee work schedules and manage staffing levels to meet business demands.

Promote accountability, professionalism, and employee engagement.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Parts Department.

Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of parts requests for technicians, service advisors, wholesale customers, and retail customers.

Maintain efficient parts ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution processes.
-
Oversee special-order parts and customer follow-up.
-
Ensure all manufacturer policies and warranty procedures are followed.

Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer and service department needs.

Monitor inventory turns, stocking levels, obsolescence, and fill rates.

Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
-
Control inventory shrinkage and investigate discrepancies.
-
Manage returns, cores, warranty parts, and vendor credits.
-
Develop strategies to reduce obsolete inventory while maintaining proper stock levels.

Achieve departmental sales, gross profit, and expense objectives.

Monitor departmental financial statements and key performance indicators.

Analyze purchasing trends and inventory investment.
-
Control departmental expenses and improve operational efficiencies.
-
Maximize wholesale, retail, and internal parts sales opportunities.

Ensure exceptional service is provided to all customers.

Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.

Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale accounts and vendors.

Support the Service Department by ensuring technicians receive the correct parts promptly to minimize vehicle downtime.

Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements and dealership policies.

Maintain a safe, organized, and clean parts department.
-
Protect company assets and inventory.
-
Ensure accurate documentation and record retention.
-
Promote safe work practices throughout the department.

High school diploma or GED required.
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3–5 years of automotive parts management experience preferred.

Previous dealership experience required.

Strong understanding of OEM parts operations and inventory management.

Experience with dealership management systems (CDK preferred).

Strong financial and analytical skills.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if applicable).

Work in both warehouse and dealership environments.
This position works in both an office and warehouse setting and requires daily interaction with technicians, service advisors, sales staff, vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
