Job Summary
John Deere is seeking an early-career Supply Management Planner to help ensure purchased parts arrive on time from internal and external suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Supply Chain or Business graduate or someone with at least one year of related experience to gain valuable experience with John Deere.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the delivery of purchased parts across one or more locations
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, schedules, shortages and delivery status
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve delivery concerns
- Track supplier performance and maintain accurate purchasing and delivery information
- Use Microsoft Excel and other Office applications for reporting and daily administrative tasks
- Prioritize multiple orders and supplier issues to support production requirements
- Escalate potential delays or material shortages when necessary
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong typing, computer and data-entry skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and internal departments
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
- Must be available to work onsite in Waterloo, Iowa
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of supply chain, purchasing, procurement, logistics, materials or supplier coordination experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field
- Recent graduates with a relevant internship will be considered
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system
