Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist dental professionals with chairside procedures, including preparing instruments and materials for treatments such as cleanings, restorations, and oral surgeries.
- Take dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans, vital signs, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization, and infection control procedures following strict aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions with professionalism and empathy.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in pediatric dentistry or other specialized areas such as prosthodontics or oral surgery as needed.
- Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools to ensure optimal functionality.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting tasks is highly valued.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures such as endodontics, implant assistance, or general dentistry practices.
- Proficiency with patient management software; experience with medical imaging systems is a plus.
- Ability to accurately perform dental x-ray procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
