Overview
The Customer Business Outcomes Executive AI Adoption Lead is a strategic leadership role responsible for accelerating AI adoption among senior business decision makers by translating business priorities into personalized AI experiences during Customer Business Outcomes (CBO) engagements.
This leader will leverage Microsoft's evolving library of ready-to-deploy agents, including role-based agents such as Chief of Staff, Strategy Advisor, Finance Advisor, Operations Advisor, Customer Experience Advisor, and industry-specific agents, to ensure executive stakeholders leave CBO workshops with an AI solution directly aligned to their responsibilities, strategic priorities, and desired business outcomes.
The role serves as a bridge between executive ambition and enterprise-scale AI adoption by removing barriers that often slow transformation initiatives, including limited AI fluency, uncertainty about where to begin, and concerns that AI innovation creates risk outside established IT governance models.
By enabling executives to personally experience business value through tailored agents, this role drives broader organizational adoption, strengthens executive sponsorship, accelerates business transformation initiatives, and creates new pathways for Microsoft consumption growth.
This role is expected to become a foundational pillar of the CBO organization by creating repeatable executive adoption motions, scalable agent deployment frameworks, and global best practices that can be replicated across customers, industries, and geographies.
Responsibilities
Executive AI Adoption Strategy
Partner with C-Level executives to identify business priorities, capability gaps, organizational constraints, and desired business outcomes
Executive Agent Deployment
Guide executives through the development of role-specific agents that support decision making, operational effectiveness, employee productivity, strategic planning, and business transformation initiatives
AI Adoption & Change Leadership
Business Value Realization
Organizational Design for Lasting Adoption
Partner with CHROs and executive sponsors to translate executive AI adoption into the organizational changes that make it durable: role and job-description redesign, compensation and incentive alignment, career paths, and performance systems built for AI-enabled ways of working
Advise executive teams on the operating-model mechanics that convert individual adoption into institutional practice: recognition systems, manager sign-off structures, and governance designed as a fast lane rather than a gate
Ensure every CBO engagement leaves behind a named ownership structure (executive sponsor, champion network, agent owners), not a standalone deployment
Hybrid Workforce Leadership
Coach executives to lead hybrid teams of people and AI agents: how delegation, quality review, feedback, and accountability change when part of the team is digital, and where hybrid teams break down
Strategic Business Impact
This role exists to solve three of the largest barriers preventing enterprise AI adoption
Barrier #1: Executive Relevance
Barrier #2: Organizational Capability
Barrier #3: IT Governance Concerns
