City Club of Greenville is seeking an experienced, service-driven Banquet Captain to join our hospitality team. If you’re passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences, leading with confidence, and delivering outstanding service, we’d love to meet you!
This position plays a key role in executing high-end events with precision, professionalism, and attention to detail. We’re looking for a hospitality professional who takes pride in leading a team, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every event is executed seamlessly.
Compensation for this position is based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet staff during upscale member events, weddings, corporate functions, and private celebrations.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to review event details, assign responsibilities, communicate service expectations, and prepare the team for successful execution.
- Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown according to banquet event orders.
- Ensure every event is executed to the highest standards with an exceptional eye for detail, presentation, and design.
- Coordinate with the culinary team, event managers, and service staff to deliver seamless, high-end experiences.
- Train, coach, and motivate banquet team members while leading by example.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide outstanding service throughout every event.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional event environment.
Qualifications
- Previous banquet or hospitality leadership experience required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- An exceptional eye for detail and event design is a must.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Must be flexible with scheduling. This position requires evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally long hours depending on event schedules.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
