EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position provides structured classroom and on-the-job plumbing instruction to inmates at SCI Phoenix, supporting both facility operations and vocational skill building. As a Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

Trade Instruction: Teach plumbing skills, systems, and methods through classroom lessons and hands-on training

Crew Supervision: Direct inmate work crews, assign schedules, and review completed plumbing tasks

Tool Management: Issue, track, and account for tools and materials used during training and work assignments

Material Planning: Identify needed supplies and submit requests to support plumbing projects

Record Keeping: Maintain documentation of inmate attendance, progress, and work details

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
