1. Scope of Job: This person is responsible for maintaining equipment such as greasing fans, and transfer cars, etc. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical tasks effectively. This will include the following but not limited to these alone.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting kiln operators and leads when they need additional help with kiln
issues such as wrecks and transporting kiln cars, including off shifts. At times it will be necessary to fill in for operators when out for full or partial shifts.
2. Support the kiln lead person in completing projects, burner adjustments, and
other various issues associated with kiln and scrubber operations.
3. Perform routine cleaning of burners, fans, control rooms, storage cabinets, and
work areas.
4. Keep area clean, including but not limited to disposing of used equipment when
no longer needed.
5. Learn how to set up kiln curves and become familiar with the different product
firing properties. Notify supervisors of any dryer/kiln temp or flash concerns.
6. Remain in trained status in order to fill in for kiln operator when needed.
Must be willing to fill in on any shift, as needed.
7. Cleanliness of Kilns/Dryers/Warmup rooms including tops and surrounding
Areas/Scrubbers/including silo interiors and pad areas. Also includes transfer cars, pit areas of kiln entrances, kiln exits, and sample brick areas.
8. Clean up and replace gravel at dryer/kiln entrances and exits when operators
are running schedules too fast to keep up with this.
9. Ensure safety on the job and properly use any personal protective equipment.
10. Any other duties assigned by the kiln lead.
Skills/Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of production machinery and tools.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of a computer is a plus.

Physical Activities:
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to climb stairs. You must be comfortable working in various conditions including heat, cold, and noise. Stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.

Pay: $22.66 - $24.50 per hour
