Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans, ensuring safety and adherence to health guidelines.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Maintain detailed care plans, document patient progress, and communicate effectively with clients’ families or healthcare teams.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Support clients during community outings or personal transportation needs safely and responsibly.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, manual handling techniques, and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and recognize signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is desirable.
- Strong understanding of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and vital signs measurement.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques when necessary.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for assisting clients outside the home if needed.
