Duties
- Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety through vigilant child supervision and effective classroom management.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, outdoor play, and educational games.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment conducive to learning and fun.
- Follow first aid protocols and emergency procedures diligently; maintain certifications such as CPR and AED operation to ensure readiness for any situation.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and team members to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral support.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with program standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills coupled with knowledge of childhood development principles.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required; ongoing certification renewal is encouraged.
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or outdoor work experience enhances your ability to engage children effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and children effectively.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies that foster a positive environment for all children.
- Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a valuable asset.
