Position Summary
850 Degrees is looking for energetic, hospitality-driven Servers to join our family. We are a busy, locally owned restaurant known for exceptional pizza, seasonal Italian-inspired cuisine, craft cocktails, live music, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back week after week.
Our Servers are more than order takers—they are ambassadors of the guest experience. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, team-oriented, and passionate about food, hospitality, and creating memorable dining experiences.
This is a fast-paced position requiring attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with our many loyal regular guests.
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
- Guide guests through menu offerings, daily specials, craft cocktails, beer, wine, and pizza selections.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalized service.
- Build relationships with regular customers and help foster our neighborhood restaurant atmosphere.
- Address guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues.
- Ensure every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return.
Service Execution
- Accurately enter orders into the Toast POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards.
- Monitor tables throughout service to ensure guests have everything they need.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain clean and organized service stations.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties.
Teamwork
- Work closely with hosts, bartenders, bussers, kitchen staff, and management.
- Support fellow team members during busy service periods.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and family-oriented work environment.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen regarding guest requests, allergies, and modifications.
Product Knowledge
- Develop a thorough understanding of our menu, including:
- Wood-fired pizzas
- New York-style pizzas
- Ultra-thin bar pies
- Seasonal specials
- Italian-inspired entrées
- Craft beer selections
- Wine offerings
- Signature cocktails
- Stay informed about menu changes and featured promotions.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant serving experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during peak seasonal periods.
- Knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktails is a plus.
- Experience with Toast POS is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
