Duties
- Greet guests warmly and manage reservations using OpenTable or similar reservation systems to ensure smooth seating flow
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu offerings
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for swift processing
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Clear tables promptly, bus tables, and assist with food handling and sanitation practices to uphold food safety standards
- Assist in guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly, ensuring a positive dining experience at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or server in a restaurant setting, preferably with fine dining or nightlife experience
- Knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest satisfaction
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy hours, multitask efficiently, and prioritize tasks seamlessly
- Familiarity with food handling, sanitation procedures, and food safety regulations in the food service industry
- Basic math skills for cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments accurately
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills to engage guests positively and work collaboratively with team members
