Established and growing YACHT service company is seeking a motivated Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in YACHTS to lead and coordinate comprehensive yacht maintenance, refit, and service projects. within our SE Florida service area.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee complex projects from inception to completion - ensuring exceptional quality, timely delivery, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in YACHT service management & a passion for the yachting industry, and demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical, & management expertise. Must have excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Successful candidates will have a keen understanding of YACHT systems, diagnostics, maintenance, customer service, and ATTENTION TO DETAIL to ensure that our team delivers top-notch service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project planning, including scope definition, requirements gathering, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, technical teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Oversee yacht maintenance, repair, and refit activities.
- Manage project budgets and control costs through detailed financial analysis and earned value management practices; negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
- Facilitate meetings for project updates, conflict resolution, and decision-making; utilize effective presentation skills to communicate progress clearly.
- Implement quality management standards across all projects; ensure the on-time delivery of high quality products & services; monitor performance metrics using data analysis skills to ensure continuous improvement.
- Utilize project management tools to document, collaborate, and track project milestones.
- Lead team management efforts by supervising technical staff; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and innovation aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects ensuring efficiency and quality in all services provided.
- Oversee customer interactions, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
- Manage projects/tasks to ensure HIGH QUALITY work "on time" and "under budget".
- Perform diagnostics and provide guidance on repair recommendations, including but not limited to AC/DC electrical, HVAC, Marine Electronics, Plumbing, Hydraulics, Running Gear, and Diesel Engines.
- Maintain DETAILED and accurate records of ALL services performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations within the company.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing YACHT service and operations.
- ABYC (or equivilant) Certification(s)
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and general systems knowledge with hands-on experience in YACHT repair and maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Proven project & team management skills/experience.
- Experience developing and presenting estimates for significant ($50-250k) projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proven experience in technical project & program management supervisory roles within the yachting or maritime industry is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising teams across multiple projects with excellent organizational skills; experience with vendor management is a plus.
- Adept at data collection and Excel data analysis for reporting purposes.
- Extensive knowledge of project lifecycle processes including scope management, requirements gathering & analysis, risk management and quality assurance.
- Skilled in negotiation, conflict management, presentation skills and technical writing to facilitate effective communication between customers, vendors, and internal resources.
