Administrative Officer - School of Social Work
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting directly to the Dean, the administrative officer will support various activities and initiatives in the School of Social Work (SSW). Along with the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work alongside the Dean to develop and optimize administrative processes and procedures within the department.
Serve as the primary resource for faculty and administrators regarding SSW and CUNY’s policies & procedures.
Oversee the coordination and planning of staff assignments & staff communications
Liaise with ICIT, Facilities, and public safety, to oversee all technology, facilities and security related matters for the Silberman Campus.
Manage and oversee the administrative process for recruitment/searches, and faculty tenure and promotion reviews.
Provide administrative support to multiple programs within the building as needed, including but not limited to Centro.
Manage all external and internal space rental requests, ensuring proper space optimization and proper adherence to policy and procedures
Alongside the Dean, manage the departmental budget, preparing financial analyses to project and plan for the School of Social Work’s allocation of Tax Levy & Non-Tax Levy resources.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, financial statements, and statistical reports to leadership for critical funding determinations.
Work closely with faculty & staff on projects and events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Administrative experience in an academic environment, strongly preferred.
Knowledge of State of New York and City University of New York policies, procedures and information systems preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Experience in higher education budget and business operations.

Works with management to create short- and long-term business plans, including operational, organization, and financial aspects.

Manages operating budget and performs analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
Oversees legal, safety, fiscal, and other compliance requirements.
Oversees facilities, technology, and materials utilized in the department, coordinating with appropriate Campus services.
Works with other Campus or University units to coordinate and plan fund-raising, grants, marketing, communications, and outreach activities.
Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the department's purview, such as managing committees, securing approvals, and providing communications.
Performs related duties as assigned.

$133,982 - $126,333, salary commensurate with education and experience.
