Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Family Services Support Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of family and child files in order to meet licensing requirements and support foster families through their foster care journey by maintaining relationships and ensuring their homes remain compliant.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Family Services Support
- Serves as the primary family contact for your region, conducts Quarterly Management Reports (QMRs), and ensures resource home inspections are complete per licensing standards.
- Ensure 100% regulatory compliance by managing the end-to-end recertification process for foster families, including rigorous health and safety audits.
- Ensure family files are comprehensive, maintained, and updated per Virginia licensing standards.
- Provides a positive role model, helps families to develop appropriate relational skills, connect with needed resources, and aids their clients in attaining life skills specific to the client’s treatment needs and goals.
- Maintains all documentation in both electronic health records and paper files promptly.
- Coordinates all respite for families, including supporting all paperwork related to it.
- Monitor all family’s required training hours to ensure compliance with licensing standards.
- Participates in the company's on-call systems, assists with crisis management, and emergency placements.
- This position will be required to be “on-call” on a rotation basis.
Clinical Services Support
- Maintain Child files for kids in care, coordinating with clinical case managers, clinical leads, and the compliance team
- – ensure the office is staffed daily during all open hours with other support team members
- Completes office tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and distributing mail and faxes.
- Order office and marketing supplies. Keep an adequate inventory of each.
- Assist in event planning, ordering, and staffing for team, family, and holiday events
- Attends program meetings, including but not limited to weekly team meetings, family services team meetings, and any others as required.
- Participates in departmental and one-on-one supervision.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record.
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written with all staff, vendors, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to maintain and establish records and files.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or sociology, or a directly related human service field degree from an accredited college, is required.
- At least three years of experience working with the child welfare population.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires a valid Virginia driver's license.
- Travel up to 2 hours (one way) for visits.
- Evenings and weekends are required.
- Must complete CPR/First Aid, Normalcy, Mental Health First Aid, and Mandated Reporter Training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
