Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise with proper lifting techniques, practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, addressing inquiries and building strong client relationships through excellent customer service.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for organizational efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, route driving, or heavy vehicle operation.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies and basic math skills for accurate transactions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and perform physical tasks safely during loading and unloading processes.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, automobile transportation laws, and safe lifting practices to ensure compliance.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and documentation efficiently.
