Maintenance Technician: Must have working knowledge in the textile manufacturing industry.
Shift hours: 8am to 4pm( hours may vary) with some over time and weekends when needed
Primary Responsibilities:
Required Skills
- Ability to operate lathes, milling machines, and other machine tools.
- In-depth knowledge of precision measuring instruments (dial indicators, micrometers, bore gauges, dividing heads, etc.).
- Strong ability to read and produce mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of tolerances, fits, and precision machining processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Preparation of pre-assembled components (e.g., bushings complete with bearings and oil seals), ensuring all tolerances are verified beforehand.
- Support production mechanics during preventive and corrective maintenance activities, especially for tasks requiring two people.
- Execution of dimensional inspections and precision alignments.
- Performing DTI measurements on the lapper and carrying out all precision mechanical checks.
Reliability and Preventive Maintenance
- Inspection of bearings to identify wear and end-of-life conditions.
- Overhaul and inspection of gearboxes.
- Verification of the correct lubricant type and level.
- Inspection of mechanical power transmission systems: gearboxes, chains, sprockets, gears, and couplings.
- Verification of the correct use of metric and standard components, avoiding improper mixing of specifications.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
This position requires intermediate reading, writing and math skills. A high school diploma is required. The Maintenance Technician must be organized, thorough, and have intermittent verbal and written communication skills. The Maintenance Technician must also have excellent manual dexterity to properly repair and operate tools, production equipment, a lift truck and a computer. This position requires lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent walking, climbing, reaching and bending duties.
Expectations
1. Be at work every day scheduled by the designated shift start time. Be ready to perform tasks well and with a positive attitude. Be on call at any time production is running. Respond to phone calls as needed.
2. Attend Shift Change Meeting daily to understand what must be produced during shift and any equipment currently down.
3. Review Maintenance Shift Schedule and Production schedule to realize critical areas of focus for shift.
4. Complete PM duties as assigned in a timely manner with accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
