Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
- Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas to uphold health regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours and assist in catering or special event setups when needed.
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and culinary techniques to enhance dish presentation and flavor profiles.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, showcasing familiarity with food service standards.
- Proven restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and food handling.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong skills in meal preparation, menu planning, and culinary techniques including knife skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and serving skills to ensure a positive dining experience for guests.
