Mixed Pet Veterinary Hospital, a well-established small animal practice in the heart of Ballantyne, is seeking an experienced, full-time Associate Veterinarian with a passion for soft tissue surgery to join our close-knit, three-doctor team.
Founded in 2000, our practice has built a loyal, multi-generational client base and a strong reputation in the community — including being voted a top local veterinary practice four of the past five years. Our clients come to us for excellent medicine and genuine, personal care, and our doctors and staff are known for truly loving what they do.
About the Role
- Full-time position, 100% small animal medicine and surgery
- We're looking for a strong surgeon — soft tissue surgery is the priority focus of this role
- Ultrasound skills are a big plus — we currently refer ultrasounds out and would love to bring this capability in-house
- Dentistry skills are valued, and our current associate is an experienced, dentistry-focused veterinarian who is happy to mentor and share cases
- No on-call or after-hours emergency responsibility
- Emergency/specialty hospital is less than 15 minutes away
- Efficient scheduling designed to minimize the need for relief coverage
- Supportive, well-leveraged technician and support staff team who practice at the top of their license
- Modern practice management software (Covetrus Pulse/eVet), digital dental radiology, and Dragon dictation software available to streamline notes and support work/life balance
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 8am–4pm
- Friday: 8am–12pm
What We're Looking For
- DVM/VMD degree and active (or eligible) veterinary license in North Carolina
- Solid soft tissue surgical skills and confidence in surgery
- Experience or strong interest in ultrasound
- Openness to growing dentistry skills with an experienced mentor on-site
- A team-oriented, client-focused approach to practicing medicine
