Job Title: Senior Credit Analyst

Reports To: Senior Vice President – Credit Administration
FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours 7/8:30 am – 4/5:30 pm Monday – Friday*
Location Ann Arbor, MI 48105*, day travel and some overnight travel required
SUMMARY
The Senior Credit Analyst is a seasoned team leader accountable and responsible for completing commercial credit analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for MBC core values: Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, Innovation and Leadership.
Support credit function while maintaining, expanding and building internal and external relationships, resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Analyze credit data and financial statements for complex transactions to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to current and prospective borrowers.
Complete accurate and timely underwriting documents to submit to loan committees and individuals for approval demonstrating independent judgment, appropriate recommendations, and risk ratings.
Independently partner with internal and external Relationship Managers and borrowers in the negotiation of loan structures and risk mitigation requirements.
Evaluate collateral values of properties securing loans, including reviewing for appraisals for accuracy, completing internal valuations when appropriate, and review of environmental reports.
Maintain knowledge and awareness of NCUA regulations directly impacting commercial loan underwriting.
Create and maintain credit files and accordance with format and retention guidelines.
Partner with Documentation and Portfolio Management departments to properly transition loans.
Actively participate with and support credit unions and Relationship Mangers in the negotiation of loan terms and structure requirements.
Demonstrate ability to independently evaluate credit risk and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies to lending partners and decision makers.
Perform other credit and risk management duties as required.
Engage in visible demonstration of leadership qualities.
Partner with and provide guidance, training, product review and support to Credit Analysts I, Credit Analysts II, Financial Analysts and Interns.

Proactively contribute within MBC beyond respective line of business responsibility through demonstration of leadership and personal action.
Proactively engage in industry events and maintain awareness of industry news and happenings through monitoring trade publications, regulatory websites and communications.
Engage in business community or social community efforts to reinforce image of MBC or Credit Unions. MBC will support activities with reasonable time and money.
SUCCESS MEASUREMENTS
Success in this position is primarily measured as the quality, accuracy and timeliness of services rendered while maintaining compliance with regulations, as well as the visible demonstration of company values and leadership.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Formal credit training program is preferred and seven to ten years of commercial credit analysis experience is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before members or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Strong experience with spreadsheet programs including near expert Excel knowledge and other Microsoft Office solutions.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $84,845.00 - $120,000.00 per year
