Job Title: Set-Up Technician – Injection Molding
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and operating 300-ton Arburg injection molding machines equipped with robotics and automation. You will ensure stable production by adjusting critical process parameters, performing detailed quality inspections, and driving continuous improvements to productivity and scrap reduction. The position suits a self-motivated professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, lean manufacturing environment with new projects and challenges every day.
Responsibilities

Set up and operate 300-ton Arburg injection molding machines with integrated robotics and automation systems.

Perform complete mold changeovers, including proper setup of feed, pressure, and temperature parameters from day one.

Adjust and monitor process parameters such as pressure, feed rates, and temperatures to maintain stable and efficient production.

Troubleshoot process issues including shorts, flash, discoloration, deformations, and other quality-related defects.

Conduct thorough quality inspections to identify flash, shorts, deformations, and other nonconformities in molded parts.

Meet on-time completion, quality, and cost targets associated with the setup and operation of new injection mold machines.

Create clear procedures, work instructions, and protocols to standardize setup and operational practices.

Improve productivity and reduce scrap and reject rates through automation enhancements, tooling and process improvements, and effective training of production personnel.

Collaborate with production team members in a lean, team-driven environment to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility and safety standards.

Interpret and work from blueprints and related technical documentation to ensure correct setup and part conformity.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
