We’re seeking an attentive, customer focused and experienced Optician to join our team.
We are a private practice optometry office with two locations and we’re excited to add an additional Optician to our team that is committed to customer service excellence!
Qualifications and Skills:
- Utilize industry knowledge and skills to guide and assist patients in eyewear selections with focus on superior customer satisfaction.
- Ability to assess prescription and recommend appropriate frame and lens options.
- Excellent communication skills while engaging with patients.
- Determine patient lifestyle preferences and optimum eyewear selections.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage, vision benefits and eyewear recommendations.
- Attention to detail: Preparation of accurate eyewear quotes, orders and processing of insurance claims when applicable, timeliness in ordering products.
- ABO Certification preferred.
- Proficiency of Optician skills: dispense eyewear, frame styling, adjustments, prescription verification, frame & lens measurements, minor repairs, lens insertions.
- Willingness and ability to multi-task, cross train and assist as needed: Answer phone, scheduling, insurance authorizations, lab functions of receiving orders and follow up.
- One year of experience as an Optician preferred, or related experience in an Optometry or Ophthalmology office.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- A positive attitude, being generous with your smiles, listening skills and patience are attributes that will set you apart from the crowd.
- Ability to understand and pull insurance benefits for patients.
Business Hours:
Monday through Friday
One half Saturday per month: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Position is Full-Time. Your exact schedule, and at which location will be flexible, however some Saturdays are generally scheduled once or twice a month.
