A well-established, family-owned community bank is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will play a critical role in guiding the bank’s financial strategy, overseeing all financial operations, and serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the board. This role goes far beyond traditional financial oversight. The CFO will help shape long-term strategy, support growth initiatives, and ensure the bank maintains strong financial performance while navigating a complex regulatory environment.
What You’ll Do
As CFO, you will oversee the bank’s financial operations while serving as a strategic partner to the executive team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and long-term strategic planning
- Overseeing the bank’s liquidity management and cash position, including daily settlement processes
- Directing asset-liability management (ALM) and interest rate risk reporting while leading the bank’s ALCO committee
- Working with external advisors to implement derivative and hedging strategies
- Ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of regulatory filings, including Call Reports, FR-Y reports, and other required filings
- Overseeing the preparation of audited financial statements in accordance with GAAP and FDICIA requirements
- Coordinating internal and external audits and maintaining strong regulatory relationships
- Partnering with leaders across lending, compliance, and operations to evaluate strategic opportunities, including M&A and growth initiatives
- Leading and mentoring the finance team, including the Controller and accounting staff
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting leadership experience, preferably in banking
- Strong background in asset-liability management, liquidity strategy, and regulatory reporting
- Deep understanding of bank regulatory frameworks (FDIC, Federal Reserve, FFIEC)
- Expertise in GAAP, financial planning, and banking operations
- Proven ability to lead finance teams and influence executive decision-making
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision and operational execution
