The Patient Care & Access Specialist is a float position responsible for providing both patient access and clinical support services within the medical practice. This role performs front office duties, including patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and other administrative functions, while also providing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) support to physicians and advanced practice providers. All responsibilities are performed within the framework of established organizational policies, procedures, and professional standards. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other clinic personnel, the Patient Care & Access Specialist helps ensure efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. Clinical responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, escorting providers during patient visits, obtaining and documenting vital signs and other clinical information in the electronic medical record, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens as directed, stocking and preparing exam rooms, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and supporting patient flow throughout the clinic. Administrative responsibilities include providing general clerical support, greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, processing insurance and demographic information, and facilitating effective communication to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
