The Community Action, Inc. Head Start/Early Head Start (CAI HS/EHS) program provides comprehensive early education and care services for children ages 0-5 and serves more than 300 infants, toddlers, pregnant mothers, fathers and preschoolers.
CAI HS is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
Family Advocate
Head Start Newburyport site
The Family Advocate (FA) position works closely with the staff and parents to provide comprehensive education and health services to children. The FA supports the parent(s) in accomplishing goals that the parent(s) set for their family. This is accomplished through home-visiting, conferencing and accountability check-ins. This position works closely with classroom teachers on case management, family engagement, and parent education activities. The FA must have good interpersonal skills including listening, a non-judgmental approach and compassion. The minimum requirements for the FA is a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field or the willingness to attain the required credential within 18 month of hire. Bilingual skills English/Portuguese/Spanish desired. The position is seasonal/school year, 35 hours per week. Salary range: $23.83 to $28.05 dependent upon education and experience.
