Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Staff Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric services across multiple facilities in the Dallas Texas area. This role requires a provider who is comfortable working in a rounding-based model, managing new admissions, and supporting ongoing patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility, efficiency, and strong clinical decision-making are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face inpatient psychiatric rounds
- Perform initial psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Provide diagnostic clarification and treatment planning
- Manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and facility staff for continuity of care
- Document all encounters in a timely and compliant manner
- Travel between assigned facilities as scheduled
Schedule & Coverage Requirements
- Flexible availability is required
- Must be able to round at a minimum of 4 facility locations
- Expected to provide coverage 3–4 weeks per month
- Scheduling will be coordinated based on provider availability and facility needs
Qualifications
- MD or DO with specialization in Psychiatry
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry preferred
- Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
- Active DEA license
- Experience in inpatient psychiatry and/or skilled nursing facilities (SNF) preferred
- Pain management experience is a strong plus
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced rounding environment
