American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Medical Surgical Telemetry position at a 225-bed specialty care hospital in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and ACLS certification.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a Medical Surgical Telemetry department at a 225-bed specialty care hospital

Hospital is a Level II Trauma Center with a Level 2 ICU featuring an Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, and CRRT programs
-
Common diagnoses and treatments include post-open heart surgery, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU cases, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock

Patient ratio is 1:3 for IMCU

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No scheduled on-call, but may be placed on call if unit census drops

Floating required on a rotation shared with other travel nurses

Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen

EMR: Cerner

13-week contract

Active MI RN license required

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (AND) required

Social Security Number and Date of Birth required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility

Preferred experience includes CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, and pediatric DKA

Orientation is conducted bi-weekly

Scrub colors: Galaxy, Royal, or Navy Blue only; hoodies and open-toed shoes are not permitted

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
