Responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing medical procedures. Conducts pre-anesthetic evaluations, monitors patients during procedures, manages airways, and oversees post-anesthesia recovery. Works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals across hospital and outpatient settings.
- Current RN license and CRNA certification (NBCRNA).
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred.
- Prior experience in high-acuity or surgical environments.
- Familiarity with EMRs and anesthesia documentation systems.
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent.
- Select/administer anesthetic agents and airway interventions.
- Provide induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Insert and manage invasive lines.
- Monitor vital signs and respond to complications.
- Manage fluid, blood, electrolyte, and acid-base balance.
- Perform venous/arterial punctures and regional anesthesia techniques.
- Evaluate post-anesthesia recovery and manage pain.
- Participate in emergency response and resuscitation.
- Ensure equipment safety checks and maintain clinical competency.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.
- Assist with patient positioning/transfers using proper body mechanics.
- Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
