Job Overview
Georgia Dental Insurance Services (GDIS) is seeking an experienced Health Insurance Account Manager to join our Health Insurance Department. This position is ideal for a licensed health insurance professional who enjoys building relationships, helping clients navigate their health insurance options, and providing outstanding customer service. The role combines account management, business development, and administrative responsibilities in support of our growing health insurance program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact by answering incoming calls and assisting members with health insurance questions.
- Administer and service our Association Health Plan (MEWA).
- Quote, enroll, and service small group health insurance plans.
- Assist individuals with Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plan quotes and enrollments.
- Visit dental offices throughout Georgia to build relationships, educate members about GDIS health insurance solutions, and promote our MEWA, small group, and ACA products.
- Develop new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
- Process new business, renewals, policy changes, and other insurance transactions.
- Work directly with insurance carriers to resolve eligibility, billing, and coverage issues.
- Contact members regarding declined credit card payments and assist with updating payment information.
- Perform administrative duties, including filing, maintaining electronic and paper records, processing correspondence, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the department.
- Support open enrollment activities and other departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Georgia Accident & Health Insurance License required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of health insurance experience required.
- Experience with small group health insurance and ACA Marketplace plans required.
- Experience servicing employer-sponsored health plans; MEWA experience is a plus.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel throughout Georgia to visit dental offices and attend occasional meetings and events.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail a must
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems.

Pay: $52,990.26 - $59,000.00 per year
