Job Summary
Seven Oaks Surgery Center has an opening for a Per Diem overnight position in our PACU caring for post surgical spine and total joint replacement patients. This position requires availability 2-4 nights per month, Monday-Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. You will direct nursing care given to post total joint and spine patients, according to nursing principles, for efficient and effective patient care, and works with the Clinical Director to effect coordination of clinical functions of the facility. Additional opportunity to pick up extra afternoon hours to help discharge patients not staying overnight.
Position Duties
a) Coordinates flow of patients through the extended care department
· Communicates intra- and inter- departmentally:
· Patient/visitor/surgeon complaints or problems.
· Information necessary to promote safe continuity of care throughout patient’s stay in facility.
· The need for materials and supplies to ensure the operation of the recovery phase.
· Communicates and promotes a continuous quality improvement commitment. Maintains continuity of care in accordance with facility policies through communications with Clinical Director, physicians and Anesthesia.
b) Maintains a safe environment for patients and personnel.
· Ensures measures to provide safe and adequate care and transportation of patients.
· Adheres to policies.
· Reports changes of any type to Clinical Director.
· Represents department in meetings with management.
· Utilizes computer system in work activities as appropriate.
· Monitors and responds to physician, patient, and staff complaints.
· Monitors and acts to enhance physician, patient, and staff satisfaction.

Education and Experience
a) Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in a surgical or surgery related setting.
b) Registered Nursing License (RN); Advanced Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
c) Must be highly skilled in verbal communication, problem – solving, and organization.
Lifting Requirements
Physical and mental requirements: extensive mobility, walking, and standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, turning, and assisting patients. Potential exists for exposure to blood and body fluids as well as other hazardous materials. Personal protective equipment should be utilized as needed. Employee must be able to work independently as well as within a team. Employee must have excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills as well as organizational abilities. Must present and maintain professional image and leadership qualities. Must be able to re-assess priorities and have the ability to handle periods of stress.
Pay: $45.00 - $54.00 per hour
