American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in the Texas Hill Country, requiring 3+ years of recent ED experience and active TX or compact RN license.

Work in an 11-bed Emergency Department on the main campus of a Hill Country hospital

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

13-week contract

Patient ratio of 1:2–3

Equipment includes Philips monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Omnicell, GE EKG machine, Lifepak 20e defibrillator, Lucas device, and Verathon bladder scanner

EMR: Meditech Expanse
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
No on-call responsibilities

No floating required

Active TX RN license or compact RN license (must be currently in hand)

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC accepted; none may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date)

CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI based on facility requirements)

Minimum 3 years of recent ED experience

SSN (US only) and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

Procedures performed on the unit include STEMI protocol, stroke protocol, conscious sedation, chest tubes, codes, intubation, laceration repair, antivenom infusion, and orthopedic splinting

Prior charge nurse experience is preferred, demonstrating the ability to multitask and think independently

Strong critical thinking, flexibility, compassion, and a sense of urgency are valued on this team

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
