Job Description:
Your job as the civil superintendent is to complete organizational and project management responsibilities to effectively lead the construction team and ensure they have all the resources they need.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily field operations to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Plan and manage construction activities, including scheduling labor, equipment, and material deliveries.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, implementing solutions to minimize delays and maintain project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of work and adherence to project specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues and support project execution.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain daily reports documenting project progress, manpower, equipment usage, and site activities.
- Manage site logistics and coordinate work between multiple trades to maintain an organized and efficient jobsite.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to support successful project delivery.
- Monitor labor productivity and equipment utilization to improve efficiency and control costs.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on schedule, progress, and field conditions.
- Support project closeout activities, including completion of punch list items and turnover documentation.
- Promote a positive work environment through effective leadership, communication, and collaboration with project teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience managing large-scale civil construction projects, preferably mission-critical or data center facilities.
- Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, underground utilities, concrete foundations, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and utility construction drawings.
- Proficiency with scheduling and project management software.
- Extensive understanding of safety regulations, quality control procedures, and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
