Gain first-hand knowledge in the animal husbandry industry while spending a semester in a unique island resort setting. Moody Gardens' goal is to help our interns gain a broader understanding of the industry.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Learn daily husbandry and nutrition for a diverse collection of animals

Gain experience with hands-on opportunities

Learn positive reinforcement and environmental enrichment techniques

Learn proper food preparation techniques and understand system diets

Gain basic knowledge of water quality and system management

Work closely with biologists and interact with guests

Currently studying or recently graduated in a biological science or related field

Must be reliable and responsible

Ability to effectively work with internal and external customers

Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders, stairs and work around water

Ability to perform duties in confined spaces

Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time

Ability to perform duties within extreme weather and temperature ranges
