Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our compassionate team. Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-ins and check-outs at the front desk
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, medication administration, and basic animal husbandry tasks
- Handle animal handling procedures including dog handling, animal restraint, and basic animal physiology knowledge
- Support veterinary technicians with laboratory work, sample collection, and aseptic techniques
- Maintain accurate medical records, update patient files, and ensure proper documentation of treatments
- Provide pet care advice to clients regarding animal nutrition, behavior, and general health
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control protocols
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Strong animal handling skills including dog handling and animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures
- Experience with medication administration and aseptic techniques required
- Familiarity with front desk operations and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with animals of all sizes including equine experience is a plus
- A passion for pet care combined with a team-oriented attitude
