Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Lead Mechanic and Service Technician to manage our Tractor-Trailer Mechanic Shop. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of Truck and Trailer maintenance, repair, and diagnostics, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Duties
- Lead and supervise the mechanic shop, coordinating daily operations and ensuring timely completion of repairs
- Diagnose complex Tractor issues (including but not limited to Paccar and Cummins Engines) using advanced diagnostics tools and computers and interpret results.
- Perform repairs on a variety of Tractor and Trailer systems including but not limited to Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mac and Volvo trucks as well as dump trailers. Our company transports, stone, concrete, sand and other construction aggregate material.
- Conduct diesel engine repairs and maintain heavy-duty vehicles with precision and attention to detail
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques to execute repairs efficiently
- Interpret schematics for automotive electrical systems and mechanical components to troubleshoot effectively
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during manual handling, heavy lifting, and maintenance procedures
- Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, perform quality control inspections, and document all repair activities thoroughly
- Oversee all shop inventory and keep meticulous records on inventory, parts and prepares.
- Must be able to manage the other mechanics and efficiently delegate tasks and duties.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years experience working as a Mechanic on Peterbilt, Mac, Kenworth and Volvo tractors with dump trailers.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and engine systems (including diesel engines- Paccar, Cummins etc).
- Ability to read and interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics with confidence
- Mechanical knowledge spanning auto body repair, welding, alignment procedures, and electrical systems
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
- Ability to implement an inventory system and keep shop and repair records in order.
- Ability to manage other mechanics and functionally delegate tasks.
Pay: $135,000.00 per year
