Overview
The Accounting Clerk provides administrative and bookkeeping support to the accounting department by processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, and helping ensure financial information is complete, organized, and up to date. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy, and can manage routine tasks with consistency and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
· Enter, review, and maintain accurate financial data in accounting software and spreadsheets.
· Assist with accounts payable, including verifying invoices, coding expenses, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
· Assist with accounts receivable, including preparing invoices, posting payments, and following up on outstanding balances as directed.
· Reconcile statements, reports, receipts, and account activity to identify and resolve discrepancies.
· Maintain organized financial files, records, receipts, and supporting documentation.
· Process checks, deposits, credit card transactions, expense reports, and other routine accounting documents.
· Support month-end and year-end closing activities by gathering information and preparing basic reports.
· Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal team members regarding accounting questions or documentation needs.
· Follow company policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards when handling financial information.
Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, business, or finance preferred.
· Previous accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, or data entry experience preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger coding, and reconciliations.
· Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting or business software—preferably Service Titan and Sage Intacct.
· Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
· Professional written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Work Environment
This position is typically performed in an office environment and requires regular use of a computer, phone, copier, scanner, and standard office equipment. The Accounting Clerk may work independently on routine tasks while also collaborating closely with accounting, operations, and administrative team members.
