West Side Beer Distributing is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our Sales Team as a Chain Sales Representative. This role is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of chain retail accounts, building strong customer partnerships, and driving sales growth through effective account management, product distribution, promotional execution, and in-market excellence.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working independently, developing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering measurable business results.
Location: Romulus, MI
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Compensation: This position offers a $42,000 base salary, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $15,000 in performance-based incentives.
Reports To: District Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

About the Role
As a Chain Sales Representative, you will manage an assigned territory of chain retail accounts, serving as the primary business partner for your customers. You'll work to grow sales, maximize product distribution, execute supplier promotions, and ensure our brands are represented with excellence in every store.
Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, business sense, and the ability to balance sales strategy with hands-on execution in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of chain retail accounts.
- Build strong relationships with store managers and key decision-makers.
- Achieve sales objectives for volume, distribution, and promotional execution.
- Identify opportunities to expand product assortment and increase sales within existing accounts.
- Place customer orders based on inventory levels, sales trends, and promotional activity.
- Execute pricing, displays, point-of-sale materials, and supplier marketing programs.
- Ensure products are properly stocked, rotated, and merchandised to company standards.
- Monitor market conditions and competitive activity and communicate opportunities to leadership.
- Maintain accurate records using company sales technology and reporting tools.
- Represent West Side Beer Distributing professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Two or more years of experience in outside sales, territory sales, account management, beverage distribution, consumer packaged goods (CPG), grocery sales, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing customer relationships and growing existing accounts.
- Experience working toward sales goals, performance metrics, or territory objectives.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Reliable Vehicle and proof of insurance coverage that meets company requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic computer literacy
- Reliability, professionalism, and a strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Work in retail environments with varying conditions
- Perform repetitive motions while stocking and merchandising
- Safely operate company vehicles and merchandising equipment
