Program Overview
Plainwell High School is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Varsity Defensive Line Coach who will also serve as the JV Defensive Coordinator. This position is ideal for a coach who can develop physical, disciplined defensive linemen at the varsity level while leading and coordinating the JV defense in alignment with the overall program philosophy.
Responsibilities
Varsity Defensive Line Coach:

Develop and coach defensive line fundamentals

Emphasize physicality, effort, discipline, and accountability

Contribute to varsity defensive game planning, scouting, and film breakdown

Ensure consistency in technique and expectations across all levels
JV Defensive Coordinator:

Install and manage the JV defensive system aligned with varsity schemes

Plan and run JV defensive practices and game plans
-
Call defenses on game day
-
Develop players to be prepared for varsity roles

Communicate player development and evaluations with varsity staff
Program Expectations:

Contribute to offseason programming including strength & conditioning, camps, and summer development

Build positive relationships with student-athletes and foster a team-first culture

Collaborate effectively with coaching staff across all levels

Uphold and model the standards of Plainwell football
Qualifications

Prior coaching experience at the high school and/or college level (defensive line experience preferred)

Strong understanding of defensive fronts, run fits, and pressure concepts

Ability to teach and develop technique with attention to detail

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Commitment to a year-round program
