Job Overview
River Bend Farm Market is located in Townshend, VT. We offer full service deli, meat, seafood in addition to standard produce and grocery. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product and customer service. We currently have a position available in our store deli 1-9pm Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday & Monday off. Duties would involve slicing deli meats, making sandwiches and pizza, filling the hot food case and waiting on customers. Applicant should be a team player with an attention to detail and the ability to complete daily food preparation and customer service tasks with minimal supervision. Must be at least 18 years old.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and offering upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling and sanitizing work surfaces
- Restock display cases to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times to ensure quality and compliance
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafes, or grocery stores is preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for retail math, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Kitchen or culinary experience is beneficial but not required; a willingness to learn is essential
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
