Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The CalAIM Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of CalAIM programs. This role focuses on processing required documentation, coordinating staff onboarding, and providing training and support to frontline staff. The Coordinator reports to the CalAIM Department Supervisor. This role is primarily administrative but may include some client-facing activities for training purposes.
The CalAIM Coordinator is an interdisciplinary, high-touch, staff-supporting role, which assumes primary responsibility for coordinating CenCal Health clients’ enhanced care management and community support services within Good Samaritan Shelter’s system of care. The CalAIM Coordinator will have knowledge of client needs as it pertains to homelessness, mental health, substance use and medical health, as well as relevant community resources and service barriers as well as social determinants of health, and deliverance and coordination of services.
Essential Duties:
Program Coordination
- Process CalAIM forms for CS and ECM programs accurately and timely.
- Maintain documentation tracking systems and ensure completion of required paperwork.
- Monitor deadlines and assist with program administrative tasks.
- Maintain reported and updated form activity on all CS/ECM form recorders at all times.
- Follows established policies to enroll and disenroll members
Staff Onboarding & Training
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new CalAIM staff.
- Deliver orientation and workflow training.
- Reinforce department procedures and documentation standards.
- Provide virtual or in person ongoing support to staff regarding established processes, including facilitating virtual and in person drop in support sessions which may require driving throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Operational Support
- Serve as a resource for day-to-day staff questions.
- Assist with implementation of workflows developed by department leadership.
- Escalate complex operational or compliance concerns to the Supervisor.
Documentation Support
- Ensure required documentation is complete before submission.
- Assist staff in resolving documentation deficiencies.
- Support preparation for audits and compliance reviews.
- Review all submitted forms for completeness, accuracy and compliance, ensuring all required eligibility criteria are properly documented.
Team Collaboration
- Support Program Managers and the Supervisor with administrative and operational needs.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training initiatives.
- Assist with organizing materials for client feedback sessions and quality improvement activities.
- Successfully facilitates Client transitions among facilities ensuring CS/ECM services follow clients through the system of care.
- Verifies optimal communication among all service providers via email and Cencal portal communications.
- Internally liaisons with other departments, including Accounting, Quality Assurance, other program team leaders
- Responsible for attending staff meetings, ensuring timely completion of training, and accurately completing timecards.
- Performs related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of non-profit or related experience is strongly preferred; ·
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a comparable combination of education/work-related is preferred
- Experience in a social service setting with working knowledge of case management systems and planning techniques;
- Knowledge of mental health resources, programs, and the Continuum of Care for justice-involved persons, including Behavioral Wellness and Community based Organizations in Santa Barbara County, is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals and families with mental health and/or legal issues;
- Knowledge of mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, homelessness and housing resources, programs, and the Continuum of Care in Santa Barbara County, is preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
Required Qualifications:

Negative Tuberculosis Test:
- Must provide documentation of a recent negative tuberculosis (TB) test result to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Background Screening:
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening, which may include criminal record checks, employment history verification, and reference checks.
Pre-Employment Drug Screening:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a drug-free workplace. A negative drug test result is required.
Driving Skills:
- Must meet the requirements set by our auto insurance carrier.
Insurance Coverage:
- Must be able to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage, which may include meeting specific criteria related to driving record, insurance claims history, and other factors.
Personal Insurance Coverage:
- Must have personal insurance coverage that meets the requirements set by the employer.
- This may include liability insurance, automobile insurance, or any other type of insurance deemed necessary for the position.
