ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide care within our SPRAVATO® (intranasal esketamine) Program and specifically oversee administration and monitoring of SPRAVATO for patients with treatment resistant depression. You will be the clinical lead present for esketamine treatment sessions, responsible for direct patient observation, monitoring, and full REMS compliance.
This is a focused, high-impact role for a nurse practitioner who wants steady, predictable interventional work as part of a collaborative care team.
Responsibilities:
- Support SPRAVATO sessions. Administer and monitor in-office two hour esketamine treatments under the SPRAVATO REMS program, per the certified prescriber’s order. Provide direct observation, monitor blood pressure, sedation, and dissociation, and manage the post-dose monitoring period through safe discharge.
- Perform psychiatric assessments pre and post Spravato administration ensuring quality and safety for patients.
- Manage adverse effects during each session. Recognize and respond to transient hypertension, sedation, dissociation, or other acute effects during sessions.
- Ensure compliance. Maintain full REMS, FDA, and DEA compliance for controlled substance handling, administration, and reporting. Keep accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
- Work with the team. Coordinate with our psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and wellness providers so patients move through interventional care smoothly.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
- Active, unrestricted New York RN license. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing board certification (PMH-BC, ANCC or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ketamine or esketamine treatment is required. This includes IV ketamine infusions, IM administration, or esketamine (SPRAVATO), with a working understanding of dosing, monitoring, and managing dissociative and hemodynamic effects.
- Comfort overseeing the full session arc, from pre-treatment screening through the post-dose monitoring window and safe discharge.
- Direct SPRAVATO or esketamine experience is strongly preferred, with comfort navigating REMS workflows.
- Strong background in psychiatric nursing and treatment-resistant depression care.
- Active New Jersey licensure is a plus.
- Self-directed, calm under pressure, and meticulous about patient safety and documentation.

We consider an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final compensation. The expected hourly range for this position is $100-130 per hour with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week, and the exact offer will be commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
