Die Cutter / Press Operator (High‑Precision Production)
Location: Shawnee, KS Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Pay: $21–$25/hr (DOE) Type: Temp‑to‑Hire
We’re hiring a skilled, experienced Die Cutter / Press Operator for a fast‑growing, high‑precision Screen Printing and Fabrication company in Shawnee. This team runs tight‑tolerance, custom production, and they need someone who can take full ownership of their press — not someone who needs step‑by‑step direction.
If you’re the kind of operator who knows how to dial in a machine, troubleshoot on the fly, and keep production moving without babysitting, this is your kind of shop.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and tear down high‑precision die‑cutting presses
- Run jobs with tight tolerances using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD‑based layouts, and production specs
- Monitor cut quality and make real‑time adjustments to maintain consistency
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
- Operate or assist with CNC‑assisted cutting equipment when needed
- Work with a variety of materials (plastics, composites, specialty substrates)
- Collaborate with production leads to optimize workflow and minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, safety‑focused work area
What You Bring
- Direct experience setting up and operating die‑cutting presses (non‑negotiable)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a background in precision manufacturing
- Ability to read blueprints, job travelers, and technical drawings
- Skilled with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measurement verification
- Proven ability to run jobs independently and maintain consistent quality
- Steady, reliable work ethic — someone who shows up and owns their station
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
