PRN Recreational Therapy Aide
Pay Range: $15 - $20hr
Shift: PRN Hours

THE ROLE:
- Assist the Recreational Therapist in planning, organizing, and facilitating therapeutic recreational activities for patients.
- Support group activities designed to promote socialization, emotional wellness, coping skills, and community integration.
- Prepare activity materials, equipment, and treatment areas prior to scheduled programs.
- Encourage patient participation and engagement in recreational and therapeutic activities.
- Monitor patient behavior during activities and promptly report concerns or significant observations to clinical staff.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment at all times.
- Escort and supervise patients during on-unit and approved off-unit recreational activities as assigned.
- Assist with documenting attendance, participation levels, and activity outcomes.
- Help implement individualized activity plans under the direction of the Recreational Therapist.
- Maintain inventory of recreation supplies and notify supervisors when materials need replenishment.
- Set up and clean activity areas before and after programs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient treatment goals.
- Follow facility policies, safety procedures, infection-control standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Establish positive, professional relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior work/life experiences, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Prior experience preferably with related software applications.
- Must be able to plan, organize, and conduct a variety of activities
- Basic computer literacy and skills.
- Must possess an active state driver’s license.
- Must be 21 or older
