Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and ensuring the safe collection and processing of specimens. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent patient care skills, and a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures. The Phlebotomy Technician will work closely with patients, providing them with a comfortable experience while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures for blood sampling in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens to maintain accuracy in testing.
- Collect, label, and process specimens following laboratory standards and procedures.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout the specimen collection process to prevent contamination.
- Assist in the preparation of laboratory samples for analysis, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any concerns regarding blood draws.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment sterilization and disposal of biohazard materials.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of specimens.Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory practices.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with patient care protocols.
- Understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to blood collection sites.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Experience in blood sampling techniques, including venipuncture and capillary draws.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to specimen collection processing is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.28 - $16.00 per hour
