Administrative Assistant/Connections Office
Title: Administrative Assistant Supervision: Director of Connections Compensation: Part-time, non-exempt, $15.50 per hour Schedule: 20 hours per week
Working Relationship: This position works beside the Director of Connections. Support may also be extended to Pastors, other team members, and church congregants. This office manages the church’s events and facility scheduling to ensure ministries and meetings are coordinated effectively. This position also includes maintaining the Church’s “one calendar” model and communicating both to the staff and event organizers. Additionally, church communications go through this office. Position also includes working as a team member in creating and supporting church events.
Qualifications:
· Commitment to supporting the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Goals of LDUMC.
· High school diploma or equivalent; administrative training or experience preferred.
· Previous administrative or office experience preferred, particularly in a church or nonprofit environment.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and basic editing.
· Ability to interact with staff, volunteers, members, visitors, and the public with professionalism, warmth, and hospitality. Embrace the church’s “Radical Hospitality.”
· A cooperative, flexible, and service-oriented approach to teamwork.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, calendars, and standard office technology.
· Ability to learn and effectively use church management, database, and scheduling systems.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise sound judgment.
Primary Duties:
· Provide daily administrative support to the Director of Connections.
· Maintain accurate church records, calendars, files, and databases.
· Assist with the membership duties and reporting.
· Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
· Assist with newsletters, bulletins, announcements, email communications, and other church publications.
· Coordinate information for the church website, social media, and other communication platforms as assigned.
· Serve as a central point of contact for the Church’s calendar as well as scheduling and general administrative questions. Work with event organizers to complete the necessary paperwork to reserve the time/space/needs of the event.
· Work with the team for special services and church-wide events. This could include the creation of events, brainstorming, and supporting the events scheduled at Church.
· Support volunteers and ministry teams with administrative needs.
· Ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, members, visitors, and community groups. Be an active, contributing member of the team.
· Provide support to the Connection ministries.
· Assist with communication to new members, members missing multiple services, and guests of the church.
· Other duties as needed.
Pay: $15.50 per hour
