Overview:
As a barista in a bustling tourist area, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional coffee and beverage service to visitors. Your friendly demeanor and knack for creating a welcoming environment will enhance the overall experience for tourists.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, including specialty drinks, in accordance with recipes and customer preferences.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Operate coffee machines and other equipment with care and cleanliness.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including work areas and customer seating.
Manage inventory by restocking supplies and reporting shortages to management.
Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently.
Promote seasonal offerings and special beverages to customers.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
Assist in training new staff members on coffee preparation and customer service standards.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred.
Knowledge of coffee brewing methods and an understanding of different coffee types.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
Must have a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
A love for coffee and enthusiasm for providing a great customer experience.
Additional Skills:
Barista certification is a plus.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
Ability to work as part of a team and foster a positive work environment.
Work Environment:
You will typically work in a lively café setting located in a high-traffic tourist area, which may involve standing for long periods and working closely with customers in a dynamic atmosphere.
TUESDAY - SUNDAY 9:00AM - 6:00PM | $10.50 - $11.00 + TIPS
