National & Regional Operations Manager (Transportation & Logistics)Job Summary
A growing transportation and logistics company specializing in temperature-controlled freight is seeking an energetic and strategic Operations Manager to lead transportation operations across multiple markets. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily transportation operations, managing teams, directing recruiting efforts, driving business development initiatives, and ensuring profitability. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate regional transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage profit and loss (P&L) performance, analyze financial results, and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and control costs.
- Oversee recruiting efforts, hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members while fostering a high-performance culture.
- Drive continuous process improvements and implement operational best practices to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Develop and execute strategic plans that support operational excellence and business growth.
- Utilize Excel and data analysis tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), optimize routes, and improve operational workflows.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and provide regular reporting on operational performance.
- Ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of management experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, financial analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to lead complex initiatives from planning through execution.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising diverse teams.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis for operational planning and reporting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with executive leadership.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and execute business development opportunities while maintaining high customer service standards.
