JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Compliance Coordinator supports the organization's Compliance Program by assisting with compliance activities across all Solaris Healthcare service lines, including Hospice, Home Health, and Palliative Care. The Compliance Coordinator collaborates with operational, clinical, administrative, billing, and leadership teams to help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
The Compliance Coordinator reports to the Compliance Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Compliance Director in carrying out the organization's compliance program, including but not limited to:
- Assist with the interpretation and application federal, state, and local laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and payer requirements affecting healthcare operations.
- Supports the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of compliance-related policies procedures, and practices.
- Reviews, monitors, and processes assigned compliance workflows and activities within MatrixCare and other organizational systems as applicable.
- Assists with Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities through audits, data gathering, monitoring, reporting, and follow-up actions.
- Conducts compliance reviews and audits of clinical, operational, billing, and administrative processes.
- Supports investigations of compliance concerns, incidents, complaints, and potential regulatory issues.
- Assists with the tracking, documentation, and reporting of compliance metrics, corrective actions, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Participates in compliance, QAPI, peer review, performance improvement, and other committees as assigned.
- Assists with compliance education and training for employees, contractors, volunteers, and business associates.
- Promotes ethical conduct and fosters a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Adheres to Solaris Healthcare's Code of Conduct and Compliance Program standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of two years' experience in hospice, home health, palliative care, quality, compliance, clinical operations, or regulatory oversight preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and the flow of daily operations throughout the organization.
- Understanding of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements applicable to Hospice, Home Health, and Palliative Care services.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, contractors, volunteers, providers, business associates, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
- Ability to conduct audits, investigations, and compliance reviews with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to train and educate staff regarding compliance-related requirements and expectations.
- Proficiency in healthcare software systems, including MatrixCare and Microsoft Office applications.
