Job Summary
Kimball Bar & Eatery is looking for a friendly, dependable Bartender/Server to join our team. We are a neighborhood bar and restaurant with a loyal local following, live entertainment, karaoke, special events, and both relaxed and high-volume shifts.
We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, communicates well, and understands that great service depends on teamwork. Experience is helpful, but personality, reliability, work ethic, and the ability to work well with others are equally important to us.
The right person will be comfortable serving both food and drinks, engaging with a wide variety of guests, staying organized during busy shifts, and stepping in wherever needed. This position includes evenings and weekends, and applicants must be comfortable working closing shifts.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic beverages
- Learn the menu, drink offerings, specials, and current promotions
- Enter orders and process cash and credit card payments accurately
- Monitor guests responsibly and follow all alcohol-service laws
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar and service area
- Complete opening, running, and closing side work
- Work efficiently during live music, karaoke, special events, and other high-volume shifts
- Communicate clearly with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, management, and support staff
- Help teammates when needed rather than focusing only on an assigned section
- Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally
- Contribute to a welcoming environment for both regulars and new guests
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and closing shifts
- Dependable transportation and a strong record of punctuality
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable interacting with guests
- Able to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift typical bar and restaurant supplies
- Bartending or serving experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right person with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, required California Responsible Beverage Service and food-handler certifications
We are looking for someone who wants to become a trusted part of the team—not someone simply looking to pick up an occasional shift.
