Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, their family members and healthcare providers, ensuring that all inquiries are handled with professionalism and care. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical and insurance terminology, inventory, purchasing and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a busy organization.
Responsibilities
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with a focus on providing accurate information and resolving issues promptly.
- Perform insurance verifications, ensuring that all paperwork, chart notes, documentation is completed prior to dispensing durable medical equipment and supplies to patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
- Utilize data entry skills to accurately update patient records and manage databases.
- Assist customers, family members or caregivers in the proper use and safety features on durable medical equipment and supplies dispensed to patients based on physician orders received with a main focus on consistent contact and follow up with our CPap patient resupply orders according to what their insurance allows. Purchasing supplies to keep level of inventory up to fulfill patient orders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physician offices and others involved in the care of our patients to ensure seamless and timely patient experiences.
- Complete sales and process payments utilizing a point-of-sale system.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service background with proven ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, durable medical equipment and supply, purchasing experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records.
- Applicants must pass a drug screening, background check, have high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
