POSITION SUMMARY
Set up and operate department equipment such as OD and ID grinders, CNC and/or manually operated, to perform a series of machining operations production materials.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operate grinding equipment
-
Work from complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications, job orders, tooling instructions and standard charts to obtain such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.

Operate hand tools as needed in a safe and efficient manner

May need to operate overhead crane, forklift, and/or hand trucks as necessary
-
Determine correct grinding wheel to use to achieve required finish; be able to measure finish using micrometers and other associated tools
General Responsibilities:

Performs other responsibilities as assigned and/or as needed to support company objectives.

Meets on-site attendance requirements.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience:
-
1 – 3 years’ experience running grinding equipment (CNC and/or manual)
-
1 – 3 years’ experience manufacturing environment
Education and Skills:
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
-
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, schematics, etc.
-
Ability to properly use micrometers and other measuring devices to determine finish and tolerances
-
Ability to properly use a tape measure
-
Familiarity with grinding stones, grinding wheels, grinding tapes; their applications and uses; and other tools associated with grinding equipment and machine work
-
Familiarity with required hand tools; their applications and uses; and safe handling requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:

Position may require person to be on their feet to 8-10 hours standing or walking in a heavy manufacturing environment, constantly performing regularly scheduled maintenance duties

Ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds infrequently

Ability to safely operate forklift, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
-
Ability to see and hear in order to perform the functions of this position

Ability to speak, write and understand English fluently
